Welcome to the 2XKO Patch Notes: 1.2.3, a comprehensive update that brings a plethora of exciting features and improvements to the game. This patch is a significant step forward, introducing a new PVE mode, two new champions, and a host of cosmetic items. Let's delve into the details and explore what this update has in store for players.
New Content
Champions
Senna, The Redeemer: Senna is a powerful champion with a unique ability to switch between two forms. In her Sentinel form, she wields a relic cannon, while her Wraith form allows her to rush down opponents as a shadowy wraith. Senna's move list and gameplay trailer provide a glimpse into her strategic capabilities.
Thresh, The Chain Warden: Thresh is a malevolent specter with a penchant for tormenting opponents. He uses his lantern to teleport and summon jailed souls for aid, while his chain attacks from tricky angles. Thresh's move list and gameplay trailer showcase his cunning and deadly abilities.
Both Senna and Thresh are available for purchase with 1,000 KO Points or one Champion Token. Alternatively, players can unlock them for free through a four-week Champion Recruitment Event. After the event, they will become purchasable for 10,000 Credits.
PVE Mode: The Climb
The Climb is a new PVE mode designed for cooperative gameplay. Players can tackle random encounters with a friend, unlocking powerful augments that transform their playstyle. The game encourages experimentation and offers a fresh challenge beyond PVP.
Events
Pool Party: Immerse yourself in the Pool Party event, starting June 29th, with special missions and rewards. Enjoy the summer vibes with new skins and a festive atmosphere.
Chipotle Collaboration: 2XKO partners with Chipotle for a spicy event, split into two parts. Each part features unique missions and rewards, with the Casual Lobby adorned in Chipotle-themed decor. Players in the US can earn real-life coupons by completing in-game missions.
Core Gameplay Changes
Teamfight Adjustments
The game aims to balance Teamfight, making it less oppressive and more engaging. The changes include:
Meter Cost: Teamfight can now cost up to 6 bars of meter (3 per champion), with duration depending on the meter spent. This encourages strategic decision-making.
Recovery Time: Teamfight now has a 12-frame recovery, reducing the viability of using it defensively and keeping combos intact.
Defensive Options: Champions can no longer block or parry Break activation during Teamfight, promoting more dynamic play.
Attacking Reduction: Hitting a Teamfighting champion applies 2.5x more Teamfight duration reduction, making successful attacks more impactful.
New Stages
Three new stages have been added, offering diverse environments for gameplay:
- Kiramman Yacht (After Dark)
- Abandoned Armory
Bug Fixes and Known Issues
The patch includes several bug fixes, addressing issues with spectating, loading screens, and timing out during stage selection. Additionally, there are known issues with Thresh's forward dash and ghoul explosion, which will be addressed in future updates.
Store and Cosmetics
The in-game store offers a variety of cosmetic items, including legendary bundles, skin bundles, and the Frame Perfect Megabundle, which supports tournament organizers.
